Marcel joined Cellectivity Ltd in August 2005. Marcel has built up extensive experience of early stage and fast-growing enterprises, particularly in the area of technology. Prior to joining Cellectivity Marcel held CFO roles at Vizuri, a fast-growing IT risk management services provider; at the BBC, in a subsidiary set up to commercialise internally developed technology; and at GorillaPark, a leading pan-European incubator and investor in early stage technology companies across Europe. Prior to that Marcel was with KPMG as a senior consultant advising a range of multinationals on best practice finance operations. He started his career in Finance at Air Products & Chemicals Inc. Marcel is a Dutch national with a broad background in financial management and consulting roles.
David Tapsell C.Eng
Chief Operations Officer
David has over 27 years experience at a Senior Executive Level in Operations, Research & Development, and Project Management for established Global and start-up companies in the eCommerce, Internet and Mobile Telecommunications sectors. David has 20+ years experience in R&D Software Development and 7+ years in Commercial and Operational management. More recently David had been working in the start up and SME environment as a business consultant operating as COO/CTO for many young companies.
David holds a BTech in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Brunel University.
Mark Jones MCIM
Marketing Account Director
Mark joined Cellectivity in Jan 2008 as part of the Sales & Marketing team. He has extensive experience in both gaming & sports betting having started out in the industry as part of the management team responsible for launching the first p2p sports betting service, flutter.com (now known as Betfair), in the UK market.
Prior to joining Cellectivity, Mark was responsible for managing a number of key brands - such as Yahoo!, Lastminute.com, Butlins, Best of the Best & Teletext - at white label specialist company Boss St Minver Ltd (part of GTECH & the Lottomatica group of companies). Having been responsible for much of the company’s UK poker, bingo & casino markets, Mark moved to Cellectivity to bring that experience into the mobile market.
In addition to this, Mark has extensive experience in both marketing & advertising from the public sector where he regularly ran both above and below the line multimedia campaigns for major UK charities including both Age Concern & The British Heart Foundation.
Mark holds a BSc in Law and Economics from Univeristy of Hertfordshire.
Jose Fernandez PhD
Chief Architect
Jose Alberto joined Cellectivity in Dec 2001 to develop and enhance Cellectivity’s patented technology in the mobile market, given his extensive experience in the theory and practice of software design.
Prior to joining Cellectivity, Jose Alberto was Senior developer at Oracle Corp. responsible for their first Commercial implementation of Enterprise JavaBeans and an Architect at Viquity Corp. for the design of one of the first B2B supply chain manufacturing systems, allowing the electronic integration of different suppliers within the manufacturing process using different and heterogeneous systems.
Jose Alberto holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, specializing in Artificial Intelligence, in the area of Deductive Reasoning. He also holds a Masters and Engineering degrees from Simon Bolivar University, Venezuela with specializations in Computer Graphics and Compiler Language Design.
